TMC's follow up survey on trailer thermal events will remain open though August 18. The results of this survey and a panel discussion regarding trailer thermal events will be presented at Technical Session #2, from 7:30 -9:00 AM on Thursday, September 20. during the TMC Fall Meeting in Orlando,Fl.
Note: This survey notice was previously sent to all of TMC's primary fleet contacts. In responding to the survey, please assure that only one submission is made per fleet.
ATA’s Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) S.6 Chassis & Brake Systems Study Group, in cooperation with TMC's S.7 Trailers, Bodies and Material Handling Study Group, is conducting this follow up fleet survey to collect additional information and assess and evaluate the frequency and severity of wheel end thermal events in combination vehicle applications. The objective is to determine if TMC should develop a recommended practice or practices to help reduce these events and mitigate their resulting costs.
Even if your fleet has not experienced trailer thermal events, please complete the fleet profile and maintenance sections, which will assist in ruling out possible causative factors.
The initial survey, conducted in January 2018 resulted in a need to ask additional questions to narrow down the root causes of wheel end thermal events as well as corrective action taken by fleets which have experienced these events.
While we ask for contact information at the end of the survey, in order to follow up with you should questions arise, you may also choose to answer anonymously.
We ask that only one survey be submitted per fleet. If you are not the best person to respond, please coordinate within your company to ensure the the best person submits the response. This is critical for larger fleets that may wish to remain anonymous. In any event, all responses will be kept strictly confidential and only aggregated results will be shared by TMC.
Thank you in advance for your participation!*
This Survey will remain open until August 18, 2018
