Doing this in a logical and standardized way can be a difficult task. Using VMRS can make these tasks much easier. VMRS Code Key 82: Operator Vehicle/Equipment Condition Report lists driver descriptions of equipment symptoms though not necessarily what is actually at fault with the equipment. The codes are designed to capture information from drivers/operators for warranty/driver condition report administration. VMRS puts everyone involved in the maintenance process on the same page, like musical notes for an orchestra. There are many parties involved in a single maintenance event leaving room for misinterpretation and mistakes. VMRS provides a standard method of linking all those involved in the repair process. The VMRS codes provide an essential method of recording and tracking parts and labor on any type of equipment
What does this have to do with VMRS? There are now more than 29,000 items listed in VMRS Code Key 33 - 29,829 to be exact

But there is an area that many fleets may overlook; continued training in the use of VMRS. A fleet would be wise to offer VMRS training to its employees on a regular basis. This would inform staff members of any changes in VMRS and would also be a good time to discuss any new codes that might be needed. It's good to continue educating yourself and your staff on the latest technologies, but don;t forget VMRS training. Remember that while ignorance can be bliss, it can also be expensive in more ways than one
