The American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council’s 2015 Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition, themed ‘Fueling the Future,’ will be held February 16-19 at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tenn.

The event will be the most important meeting of the year for trucking professionals interested in fuel and equipment, as well as maintenance practices to improve the efficiency and profitability of the fleets now and in the future. Key focuses of the meeting include selecting and converting to alternative fuels, improving asset utilization through outsourced vehicle maintenance, recommended strategies to increase the life and performance of tires, and demystifying heavy-duty vehicle fuel economy testing.

  • A technical session on “Green Trucks, Green Shops, Green Incentives” that will help industry professionals learn about current fleet experience with developing and implementing alternate fuel vehicle programs, as well as learn what industry standards and financial incentives exist to support fleet efforts to reduce their carbon footprint
  • A technical session “Maximizing Asset Utilization: A Fleet/Service Provider Dialogue” that examines the challenges facing both fleets and service providers when it comes to outsourced vehicle maintenance and what best practices have been developed to improve fleet/service provider relations
  • Other technical sessions conducted by TMC study groups examining topics such as alternative fuels, low-rolling resistance tires, heavy-duty vehicle fuel economy testing
  • Nearly 400 exhibitors featuring the latest models of medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, specialty and alternative-fueled vehicles, components, safety and information technology and services
  • Alternative Fuels Pavilion that will provide one-stop shopping for the fleet executive who wants to quickly get up to speed on all segments of the alternative fuels market, including range trucks
  • More than 100 task forces that will meet to examine equipment and maintenance recommended practices for the industry
  • Donald Broughton, chief market strategist for Avondale Partners, will be the featured speaker for Tuesday’s Kickoff Breakfast. Mr. Broughton will provide a “bottoms-up” differentiated dissection of the U.S. economy and financial markets, leveraging his expertise in transportation and his proprietary method for translating goods flow data into economic projection.
