  • TMC 2017 Fall Meeting and Competitions to Be Held as Scheduled

SPECIAL NOTICE Concerning TMC's 2017 Fall Meeting ATA's Technology & Maintenance Council has been closely monitoring the situation with Hurricane Irma and its impact on Orlando and the entire state of Florida. ATA has announced that TMC's 2017 Fall Meeting and National Technicians Skill Competitions will be held as planned September 16-21 in Orlando, Florida. After receiving an encouraging update about the city of Orlando as well as the Orlando World Center Marriott, ATA and TMC leadership felt it was important to host both the competition and the meeting to support the Florida economy and to continue to move the TMC agenda forward. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those families, friends and colleagues that have been affected by Hurricane Irma,” said Chris Spear, ATA president and CEO. “ATA and TMC will be launching a fundraising effort for relief efforts during the TMC meeting. The trucking industry lives in, and delivers to, every community across America, including those communities impacted this weekend. Trucking is one of the first responders to natural disasters and we will continue to not only help in the Hurricane relief efforts, but we will also help rebuild all communities.” The National Technicians Skills Competitions – TMCSuperTech and TMCFutureTech – will begin this Saturday, and runs through Monday, with the TMC Fall Meeting schedule picking up Tuesday.
